Nicola Marie gave her last appearance as Madonna on Friday. I was asked to photograph the occasion at The Tower House Hotel. A real no-brainer…..Just try and stop me!!!!!
I had photographed Nicola Marie as Lady Gaga and was hoping Madonna would be on a par.
Nicola Marie had said that this would be her last appearance as Madonna; having seen her perform I couldn’t help but feel that this was a major loss to her fans. She really engages with the audience, not only does she include them on stage, (if you are lucky enough to have a birthday), she also moves into the audience for that personal touch. She gets really close!!
The lighting setup was fantastic, again negating the need for any on-camera flash. For me, the only troublesome part of the shoot is where the smoke is added. This plays havoc with the autofocus system and gives all the images a hazy unsharp feel. The red lighting is also a tad difficult to manage, but hey ho, you can’t have everything !
Back to the performance, brilliant, fantastic, excellent!!!!!
I found out that Nicola Marie was suffering the effects of a cold; being the consummate professional…..no one ever knew!!
How would you finish off a night of great entertainment like this. How about some gorgeous Italian food provided by Rob & Nicola at The Tower House…….Perfect!!
