I was asked to photograph a charity gig at Tiger Tiger in Leeds on Wednesday night. The gig was in aid of little Harry Buckley, 4 years, who is suffering from Neuroblastoma cancer. I can’t think of a better cause.
My initial assessment was that lighting would be a little tricky. I would have to rely on my trusty 580 ex on camera flash, not ideal but necessary.
Al Perry started the night off with some fantastic acoustic guitar and vocals. Gave a great performance and a real pleasure to watch but from my point of view he was a bit of a challenge to photograph… with his eyes open!!!!
The Senators followed Al. I know that the lead vocal, Mark Fox, was nervous beforehand but WHAT A POWERFUL PERFORMANCE!!! The band are fantastic, be prepared, though, they will certainly clear the cobwebs from your ears !!
They also proved to be a real challenge to photograph. The dancing was lively to say the least, dodging the crowd with my camera was not an easy task…brought back memories of dodgem cars as a kid.
The evening ended with Ten Foot Tall and what a great end !! Covers galore and audience participation guaranteed. The dance floor continued to overflow with exuberant and energetic young people. I felt my age !!!!
Harry
Al, The Senators and Ten Foot Tall did you proud !!
