Chapel Allerton local residents pulled out all the stops for this celebration. It was an extremely moving event held at the war memorial, which had a fantastic turnout.
It was lovely to see young people aplenty and Lady Mayoress Jane Dowson showing her support.
An event close to my heart….my Great Grandfather died on the Somme. He was shot in the arm, continued fighting and died later in the battle on 15th September 1916.
