Having done their Pre-wedding shoot I knew that Hilary and Trevor’s wedding would be a little unorthodox. I wasn’t wrong !!
Unfortunately the weather had let us down a bit, it was a little windy and extremely wet. Rain was the order of the day…..Hey ho !!
I started with the bridal preparations and then we all went to Kirkstall Abbey for the group pictures of the family. This was not the usual sequence of events but Hilary and Trev had been together for many years so the traditional protocols were just not necessary.
Hilary did indeed wear her wellies…Loved them !!
I was made to feel welcome and part of their day, this does make a big difference to me, not that it makes me treat the occasion any differently, it is just really nice!!
Having done the group [photo’s we moved on to the ceremony at Leeds Town Hall…….Could you believe it we were not allowed to take any photo’s on the steps at the front of the building due to filming (think it may have been Peaky Blinders !). This, for me, was a real shame as the doors at the top of the steps are incredibly beautiful, never mind…on we go.
The ceremony was simple but lovely.
Due to the filming, there were many places that we are not allowed……we managed to sneak in for a few pics on stage with a grande piano and an empty auditorium whilst the cast were away……..naughty, but nice !!!
When we left the Town Hall, we were greeted by darkness and rain. Par for the course it seemed, but I just love the images from outside. The joy of the occasion is really apparent, no-one took a second glance at the weather !!
On to the wedding breakfast at Kirkstall Abbey Gatehouse, it was very dark but very atmospheric. I have to say a fitting end to a wonderful day.
Hilary, Trevor, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day, it was an incredible experience and I wish you the very very best for the future !!
