Toni and Chris were getting married in a civil ceremony at The Tower House Hotel, Halifax. I had already met them for a pre-wedding shoot at Kirkstall Abbey and I was really looking forward to seeing them again, this time on the big day.
I started off with the bridal preparations. Toni had planned everything with military precision! She looked absolutely stunning, her dress was fabulous and her hair was perfect.
When I arrived at the hotel to see the groom and his best men all were in great form.
The civil ceremony room is simply gorgeous and it was really helpful that the Registrar was very relaxed. I could use flash!!! This is not always the case.
When it came to getting the romantic shots of the couple I was hoping for a bright but overcast day, but above all I did not want rain…..You’ve guessed it, the rain came down sideways.
Fortunately, the lighting at The Tower House is fantastic. I did the shots indoors and then left whilst the wedding breakfast took place.
When I returned for the speeches, the weather had improved and I was able to get some of the shots I had missed. Toni and Chris never stopped smiling; they were so easy to work with….How can you fail to get nice shots of them !!!
