‘Peace Is Out ‘ had their first gig at Bar 5, Halifax.
The staff and the customers were all very welcoming and incredibly friendly. It was an ideal location for the bands introduction and they certainly put everything into it.
It was great to see the bands family had turned up for support, this really added to the occasion.
From my point of view, the venue was reasonably well lit and as the band do not use their own lighting, I was able to use on-camera flash for the majority of the shots without the worry of wiping out the effects of any set up/stage lighting in my pics.
The outside of the venue had an earthy style and I could not resist incorporating this into some of the pictures.
The front of the bar lent itself to at least one HDR style shot. Although not true HDR, I think the image has impact and works well as publicity shot.
I like to give a flavour of the atmosphere in my work. There is always an opportunity to include the audience in the pictures.
The band gave a brilliant performance, which belied their inexperience.
Well done, another great night.
Look out for ‘Peace Is Out’ in the future.
