Mark Sanders was Freddie Mercury at The Tower House Hotel on New Year’s Eve. The event was a sell out, and as usual, there was full participation from the crowd !
I was introduced to Mark prior to the gig; he was an absolute gent. My first impression was that he was a little too quiet to take on the persona of such an ebullient, international entertainer….How wrong I was !!!!!
Freddie entered the room, ran through his fans and jumped on stage. So it began…
He was brilliant, he completely captivated the audience both visually and musically.
My trusty 70-200 f2.8 IS was my choice for the night. It’s Fantastic in low light and delivers really crisp images. No need for flash.
It wasn’t an easy shoot, it seemed like each time I took my eye away from the viewfinder, Mr Mercury had left stage and was looming up on me in the audience, rendering my telephoto useless.
We had a break for some incredible food provided by Rob and Nic and then back to Freddie.
It was great to be with my wife, Bernie, amongst friends seeing in the New Year with Freddie. Perfect !!!!!!!!
